Many people know this show as the aquatic performance by Cirque du Soleil and, indeed, it is a captivating show revolving around water. A number of the performances take place in the giant pool of water that moves continuously throughout the show – rising above and below stage level, allowing patrons to enjoy underwater visuals just as much as above it. However, it’s not just the water element that keeps patrons ‘oooing’ and ‘awing’ throughout the performance. The show infuses elements of fire and air as well. During one portion of the show, a giant Bateau (French for boat) is lifted into the air where men and women use a symphony of movements to propel the ship forwards and backwards, like a ship on ocean waves, even as it merely hangs from the rafters.
O is one of the most powerful displays of gymnastics and aerial choreography in the world. Sexy synchronized swimming is also weaved into this surreal dream providing for an intriguing escape that is otherworldly and gorgeous in its own.
